These pages, the neglect toolkit and further resources help practitioners identify neglect at the earliest opportunity. The toolkit is used both in early assessments as well as aiding any referrals that you make to children's social care. For more information and a concise guide to helping practitioners recognise and respond to neglect, you can:

  • Text link image Child Exploitation
    Show details
We have recently launched phase 1 and 2 of a large-scale campaign against child exploitation in the Wakefield District called, Speak Up. Stand Up. Stop Exploitation!

Phase 1 is a central resource for all practitioners who work or volunteer with children and their families in the area to help identify, disrupt, prevent and stop child exploitation.

Phase 2 is a resource that helps the community and local businesses identify and tackle exploitation in the area and we are currently developing phase 3 and 4 which will provide guidance for parents and children.

It is important that all practitioners access this part of the website as it has been produced and managed by the WSCP business unit alongside all relevant agencies who deal with frontline child exploitation work. Any updates or developments will be made available here first as our website is constantly evolving.
