Welcome to the Wakefield Children’s Safeguarding Partnership website. This specific page is designed to support you in your work with children and their families, to effectively safeguard children in the Wakefield District. You will find the information in this pack throughout the breadth of information on the website already, but we have gathered together a selection of essential learning to help you on your way.

Who are the WSCP and what do we do?
Many people confuse the safeguarding children's partnership for children's social care.
The partnership are instead, a body that holds our partners to account by ensuring that they are working hard to safeguard children and their families in the Wakefield District. We support, encourage and promote multi-agency working so agencies can share and have joint ownership to improve outcomes for children.
WSCP is a statutory body, led by an Executive with its purpose to work together in a system where:
- Children are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted
- Organisations work together, share and have joint ownership to improve outcomes for children
- Organisations challenge appropriately and hold one another to account
- There is early identification and analysis of emerging safeguarding risks
- Learning is promoted in a way that organisations can become more reflective and improve services for children and families
